N E P A LNepal, the Himalayan kingdom, has been embroiled in a Maoist revolution for more than 10 years. A spectacular mountainous agricultural culture it is one of the poorest in the world. The King has recently stepped back from his authority and turned it over to the Maoist Communist Party of Nepal. The economy relies on tourism and Himalayan trekkers that have stopped coming since 2000.
